BASEMENT: Paul Fleetwood (Perimeter Junk) / Ron Like Hell
STUDIO: DJ Voices / Ryan Smith
Paul Fleetwood is a gem of the US underground: a crafty producer, stellar DJ and behind-the-scenes force whose organizational acumen has contributed to Honcho Campout, Via Fest and much more. Active for decades, Fleetwood brings both a seasoned classicism and a scorching urgency to his sets and productions. Tracks like “Vultures” are rock-solid, no-nonsense techno workouts that make the genre feel fresh and alive. That’s also the M.O. for Perimeter Junk, the label Fleetwood founded in 2021. With an impressive discography of carefully-curated names and a strongly rooted sound, the label elegantly mirrors Fleetwood’s striking aesthetic. He’s joined in BASEMENT by Wrecked co-founder Ron Like Hell, a fellow traveler in the US underground and devotee of dance music’s joyously psychedelic byways.
In STUDIO, DJ Voices takes the helm. A well-known presence in NY and a growing staple abroad, Voices has become one of the most exciting and consistent DJs operating in the US today. Voices is a musical omnivore whose selections stretch into fiery percussive syncopation, thick, devastating low end and sizzling, futuristic textures. Her sets - immaculate, unrestrained and yet utterly poised - land curveballs and unexpected moments with chef’s kiss perfection. She plays alongside Ryan Smith in STUDIO, and it’s a great match. Like Voices, Smith’s sets are masterclasses in tripped-out genre-spanning groove immersion.
