Wrecked: Leesh / Ron Like Hell / Bézier / Ryan Smith

September 23, 2023

BASEMENT: Leesh / Ron Like Hell
STUDIO: Bézier / Ryan Smith

Leesh makes their debut at BASEMENT for Wrecked. The Daisychain founder has been a major figure in the queer underground, using their podcast series to bring together a vast community of femme, trans and non binary artists, cultivating a global network of DJs and producers. Their sets are effusive and rolling, with a glowing party-starter energy and a serious dollop of charisma. A paragon of DIY culture and a true artist, this one will go off. Ron Like Hell matches the energy with final-boss level psychedelia. A true master, Ron’s many years of exploratory playing and organizing have given his indelible sound an authority that is unmistakable.

Bézier returns to Wrecked. The Honey Soundsystem co-founder has been a steady presence in the US underground for close to 20 years. Since his first transmissions, Bézier has embraced the warm glow of italo, the twisting shapes of braindance, the chug of cosmic disco and the shimmering, punky emotiveness of Dutch electro. These threads weave together into a tapestry that’s as delectable as it is personal. Ryan Smith similarly pulls from all corners, bringing a worming wiggle, nasty flair or a transportive euphoria to the floor. As half of Wrecked, Smith’s sets always land with a special kind of perfection.
