BASEMENT: Clarisa Kimskii / Sandrien / Holden Federico
STUDIO: Binh / Jek / Hank Jackson

Clarisa Kimskii returns to BASEMENT, stepping in for Ben Sims. Her exceptional mastery of seductive, oozing techno has set her apart. Working in a lineage of deep, hypnotic and mesmerizing dance music, Kimskii embodies techno’s most elusive properties while bringing a snappy urgency to the mix. A true artist and a dance music veteran, she’ll make quick work of the room. Amsterdam’s Sandrien made her first appearance at BASEMENT in the early months of 2020 and it’s high time she returned. Dutch favorite is one of the country’s finest techno DJs, bringing a sunshowered, multicolor warmth to her sets. Her bonafides are confirmed by her collaborators: she recently went b2b with none other than DJ Nobu at Rainbow Disco Club, an event the maestro described as “one of [his] best b2b mixes.” NY’s Holden Federico matches their focus with a singular dedication to techno’s coiled, ‘90s golden age. Using that era’s diabolical wildness as a jumping off point, his own mixes and productions slam with heroic impunity.

Perlon affiliate and Time Passages label boss Binh makes his debut at the club. In the crowded field of minimal, Binh stands out as a true artist with an incredible ear. His productions swing with a languorous, expansive hookiness, always drawing you in with indelible textures and fresh, surprising movements. These traits carry over to his DJing, which embraces the wide-open grooves of minimal without being tied to conventions and tropes. He really can take a set anywhere he likes. But wherever he goes, it’s guaranteed to be stunning. Fresh off an outstanding set at WIRE, Jek returns to STUDIO. One of NY’s best and brightest new voices, Jek makes it look easy with a natural flow. Hank Jackson makes his debut at the club. From his earliest releases on Mister Saturday Night to his more recent curation on his own label anno, Jackon’s been an unflinching advocate for the deliciously weird, the earthy, scuffed and organic. His DJ sets bring a low-key brilliance, moving with steady assurance and a rich, heady psychedelia.
