Headless Horseman is back at BASEMENT. Infamous for his virtuosic live sets and dark, industrial-tinged sound, Headless Horseman brings a cold blooded power without fail - evil in its purest form. His recent tracks stand as essential entries into the canon of massive, brutalist techno. He pulls on stomping bass, bristling noise and even undertones of metal, but this music’s essence is harcore techno through and through. MADNESS OF brings the ruckus. You know the score: heaving, furious techno played with fearless intent from Kyruh and WTCHCRFT. As solo artists, they cannot be stopped. As a duo, their chemistry is on another level. L.Sangre’s razor sharp EBM techno hybrid has made her one of the city’s most distinct and steadfast selectors. The Lost Soul affiliate goes for the jugular, with an unhinged wildness that hijacks the mind and taps directly into the audience’s primal id.
Running Back’s Gerd Janson returns to STUDIO. A truly world-class DJ, Janson embodies the catharsis of disco, the warm, groovy flow of house and the promise of dance floor communion like few can. His sets breathe with a masterful flow, pulling on a rich history of melodically sumptuous, club-tooled heaters. Anyone who knows, knows. Janson has an immaculate touch that has made him both a crowd favorite and a leading light for fellow artists. Makadsi takes a break from his resident duties at Function, one of NY’s best new queer parties, to play STUDIO. There’s a joyous buoyancy to his sets tempered by a ruff-n-ready edge that feels quintessentially New York. Matas rounds it out. The club regular keeps things bouncing with a high-energy, sugar-rush fervency that instantly hooks you and keeps you captivated.
