FIST: Viper Diva / UFO95 / speedy spice / Word of Command / DJ Clone / False Witness / Oza / Cosmo

FIST returns to BASEMENT. Viper Diva, better known as Shlømo, is one the most exciting projects to come out of Paris’ techno community in recent years. But this is more than a simple side project: the alias embraces tension and wild possibilities, bringing a liberated freshness and sense of boundlessness. On the “Snake Does Cry” EP, tracks like “Alice” and the humorously-titled “Horny Consequences” are pure distillations of a no-fucks-given attitude. Absolutely slamming with a demonic flair, Viper Diva’s long-awaited NY debut promises to leave a smoking crater where the DJ booth was. Fellow Parisian UFO95 also makes his BASEMENT debut. The recent alias harnesses throbbing acidic techno and dissociative trance-inflected wormholes in service of a corrosive and impactful psychedelia. Check out releases like “Popularity Is Overrated” for Anetha’s Mama told ya; Whether solo or in collab with Anetha, UFO95’s world is one of unbridled imagination and strobing energy. Residents Word of Command and DJ Clone take the helm alongside NY’s Speedy Spice. A practitioner of “hot n heavy tech,” Spice brings a hard, saucy flair to the mix, often veering into bludgeoning industrial mania. False Witness made their name in New York before making the move to Berlin, and their sound has always been infused with a nasty NY virulence. The multidisciplinary artist has a reputation for fearless impact and crafty blends. A leading light of the city’s now-thriving younger generation, their October “Montagem” EP is a standout of soulful, deadly rave. For their STUDIO debut, False Witness plays a special house set. OZA is a resident at TUNNEL, the emergent QPOC rave epicenter in his hometown. His sets and original productions burn with a relentless urgency, fusing the harder ends of house and electro with tougher club sounds and more. NY’s Cosmo brings an electric, old school sound, blending classic, jacking house sounds and joyous diva vocals with swinging, infectious acid.
