BASEMENT: Etapp Kyle / Kyruh / Word of Command / DJ Clone
STUDIO: Michael Magnan / Sterling Juan Diaz
FIST returns to BASEMENT with one of the best in the game: Ukraine’s Etapp Kyle has been a steady presence since his debut release more than ten years ago. Quickly finding a home on Ben Klock’s Klockworks, his uniquely ethereal sound has always cut a striking figure. Tracks like “Sakura” glow with an ember-like richness, while his DJ sets cruise and glide with a steely cool. It’s no surprise he was brought on as a resident at Berghain; his sound - bold, artistic and technically pristine - is a perfect fit for the club. NY’s KYRUH has made quick work of New York, establishing herself as one of the city’s standouts over the last year-and-change. Her sets are thrilling adrenaline rushes, pushing tempos and sound systems alike. Yet she shows a remarkable discipline as well, maintaining total control of the energy at all times. Recent appearances overseas inaugurate what will surely be a long and storied career. FIST organizers Word of Command and DJ Clone break from their typical b2b configuration to offer two solo sets. The psychosis of classic ‘90s rave and hard techno is in full effect, mixed with modern variants, for maximal chaos and catharsis.
