FIST winds up the summer with a serious heater. Berlin’s Dina headlines, bringing her signature spacious, driving techno to the room. A regular across Europe, the Boarding Gate radio show organizer will no doubt become more and more known in the US in short order. Her productions and DJ sets ramp up the tempos while keeping a focused restraint. The result sends chills up your spine - taut, heavy and delivered with incredible finesse. MORENXXX returns. The Brooklyn-based artist is one of the exemplars of NY’s current wave of queer artists, pushing the velocity to its upper echelons while recontextualizing the dancefloor as “a site of becoming and unbecoming.” If that sounds heady, MORENXXX’s sets don’t give you much time to ponder. Their music lunges with an undeniable power and activating force. Residents and organizers Word of Command and DJ Clone offer a vision of queer clubbing that prioritizes musical exploration, kinetic power and moving-target spontaneity.

Pangaea returns from the UK. The Hessle Audio co-founder is one of the most singular artists in the post-dubstep landscape. Part of a foundational wave of producers who reworked UK bass music into a 4x4 hybrid, Pangaea has never stopped growing. His tracks alternate between the moody, rain-streaked paranoia that gave drum ‘n’ bass some of its most evocative iterations and huge anthemic climaxes that bubble over with an unbridled urgency. But whatever mode he’s working in, Pangaea always delivers with a touch of understatement and a personal twist. Honey Bun is one of NY’s breakout talents, reinvigorating house music with a fresh perspective and a lot of soul. Coming off a batch of standout sets, Honey Bun has officially announced her presence to the world. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. flirty800 counters with an all-out queer energy that cannot be contained. On official remixes for artists like Kim Petras and Isabella Lovestory, he pushes the energy to spiraling highs, with a shimmering surface that glistens like lip gloss and a weight that lands with the impact of a renegade 18-wheeler.
